DraftKings Frequent Player Points

DraftKings uses a frequent player points system to award loyal customers. Members earn FPP’s every time they enter into a real money contest. The number of FPP’s earned per contest depends on the amount of the buy-in. You cannot earn FPP’s on freerolls.

You can check the number of Frequent Player Points at any time by logging in and visiting your Account Information.

How DraftKings Works

New leagues and tournaments are available on a daily basis. Most contests begin and end over a 24-hour period, but some are longer, including season-long contests. The buy-in is the cost to enter a contest, and you must be able to cover the full buy-in amount with the funds in your DraftKings account. Buy-ins are not refundable.

All contests are assigned a fixed salary cap, and all athletes in the DraftKings database have a dollar value, which is adjusted based on league scoring. Contest participants assemble a valid team within the limitations of the salary cap. Leagues are scored similar to standard fantasy sports, and the owner of the team that scores the most points wins. Some leagues and tournaments award runner-up prizes to the second-place team, third-place team and so forth.

How to Play Fantasy Football on DraftKings

The standard DraftKings fantasy football league has a salary cap of $50,000. The default roster size is nine and includes a quarterback (QB), two running backs (RB), three wide receivers (WR), a tight end (TE), a flex player (FLEX) and a defense/special teams unit (DST). The flex position can be a RB, WR or TE. DraftKings uses a standard fantasy football scoring system that awards 4 points for passing touchdowns and 6 points for rushing TDs.

Sample Draftkings Fantasy Football Lineup

With $50K to spend, you can average about $5.5K per position. Nevertheless, this scoring system favors running backs, so many players will choose to pay more for that position, including in the flex spot, and then seek to identify underappreciated players, often called sleepers, at other positions. The teams that win are usually the teams with the most players that outperformed their salaries. Note that a valid team must have players from at least two different NFL teams.

How to Play Fantasy Baseball on DraftKings

Fantasy baseball on DraftKings is very similar to fantasy football on DraftKings. The major differences is that it uses players from the MLB instead of the NFL, and scoring reflects the MLB rules. In standard leagues and tournaments, all participants are assigned a fixed $50,000 salary cap. The cap is used to field a valid 10-player team, which includes two pitchers (P), a catcher (C), a first basemen or designated hitter (1B/DH), a second baseman (2B), a third baseman (3B), a shortstop (SS) and three outfielders (OF).

Scoring is also similar to fantasy football. Hitters, for instance, earn three points for a single or 10 points for a home run, and pitchers get two points for a strikeout and four points for a win. An important factor to keep in mind is that fantasy baseball doesn’t favor a position to the extent that fantasy football does, so players tend to approach these leagues with balanced rosters. Note that a valid team must have players from at least two different MLB teams.
